Welcome to Taylor's P.R.I.D.E.! (Patient-Responsible-Independent-Dependable-Everyday!)
Our motto for Kindergarten, Hakuna Matata, "It means no worries." This year the members of the Pride will practice how to be patient, responsible, independent, and dependable. They will also learn how to be Adventurous Readers, Wild Writers, Math Explorers, and Science Investigators!
We have had a terrific couple of weeks. I have seen such growth in the students with their reading and math skills. I am so excited to see what the rest of year holds. We have celebrated our 100th day of school in January. We explored topics of the weather, snow, matter, Martin Luther King, Jr., and addition.
This month we will be tackling our writing skills. We are finishing up writing about the beginning, middle and end of a story. We will also write about a nonfiction topic. We have met some friends who help us in our writing, Opinion Ollie the Otter, Statement Stanley the Sloth and Dino-mite Details.
Please continue to complete nightly reading and sight word homework. It makes such a difference in their success and growth in reading.
Don't forget to send in a monthly class snack. Remember it has to be peanut/nut free and individually wrapped. We have 18 students.
