Hello! My name is Patricia Taylor and I teach kindergarten at Towne Acres Elementary School. This is beginning my sixteenth year teaching at Towne Acres. I have taught for twenty four years in grades Pre-K, K, First and Second.
As seen by the photo, I enjoy some acting. This is from a musical I did several years ago "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown". I played Sally. I'm not sure if I was very good but I had a great time! I also enjoy singing, drawing and running. Also, as you can tell from the theme of our class web page and the picture below I really like Disney, Star Wars, Peanuts, and Star Trek. Below is a picture that my family used a couple of years ago for our Christmas card.
My family and I moved here seventeen years ago. My husband, Brian and I have three fabulous children: Brittany - 32, Zach - 30 and Carrie - 24. I also have a wonderful daughter-in-law, Anna Lora and a son-in-law, Seth. Also, we have a two year old grandson, Cameron.
MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY I selected the theme for our classroom as P.RI.D.E. (Patient-Responsible-Independent-Dependable-Everyday). These are qualities that we work on in Kindergarten. The classroom should be a place where every child is respectful of and helpful to each other. When everyone works together, the classroom can be an exciting place to learn!
I believe every child can learn. Children learn through different styles and techniques of instruction. I try to incorporate a variety of activities to reach each child. My classroom may be filled with singing, creating, acting, reading, writing and problem solving.
